It is with a heart full of joy that I welcome everybody to this platform. This is a Department out of the ten Departments in the College of Veterinary Medicine. The Department which was before named as Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology was created in 2007. The pioneer Head of Department was Prof. P. A. Chiejina followed by Dr. J. E. Chima. These were contract staff, which left the services of the University after their contract elapsed. The present Head of Department is the first full time staff of the University to cling this post. Around June, 2017 a new Department was carved out to ease off administrative bottleneck and to enhance productivity. The new Department is Department of Veterinary Parasitology and Entomology, with the new and pioneer Head of Department as Dr. L. A. Ngongeh. I want to use this forum to welcome all, feel free to peruse through the profile of the hardworking staff of the Department.
